Lots of exciting SF related stuff happened in the last 2 months!

Locally in HK we’ve had two tournaments since my last update. One is the local HKFighter-organized 22/05 SSF4AE 3v3 tournament and the other is 華海科技霸戰 (Hua Kai Ke Ji Ba Zhan) a national level tournament (consisting of qualifiers all over China, I think of it as like a Chinese version of Japan’s Tougeki lol).

For the HKFighter 3v3 Tournament, first place was Team BACKUP #3 consisting of Kit (Yang), Lau (Boxer) and Blade (Ryu), 2nd place was Team Online草蜢 consisting of Gameoutttt, SL Hiro, and oooOOOooo, and 3rd place is my team :D Team U24 consisting of Bell (Chun), Kitling907 (Yun) and moi.

I only played a single match and I lost so basically a big thank you to Bell and 907 for carrying the team to third place keke ^.^

Team Backup #3 - From left to right: Lau, Kit, Blade & Gavin

Team OnlineGrasshopper - Middle 3 from left to right: oooOOOooo, Gameoutttt and SL Hiro

Team U24 - Mid 3 from left to right: Kitling907, Bell and Me!

MVP of the tournament was ViperRX188 our favorite local Gouken user who almost OCV’ed Team Backup #3! Checkout his match against Lau (Boxer)

He’s really passionate about SF and Gouken, so peeps who are interested can go right here to his youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/viperRX for his matches and Gouken tutorial etc.

And here’s my match ~ You can see Kit make use the Yang invincibility bug at 3:00 on my frontal j.dlk lol. Didn’t warm up enough so you can see me spamming ex-greenhand on resets to try to escape only to get ex-command grabbed by Yang.

For the 華海科技霸戰 (Hua Kai Ke Ji Ba Zhan), its actually a pretty prestigious Chinese tournament. The whole competition consists of 4 seasons, and this is only season 1. Winner of all 4 seasons can win up to $100,000 RMB! For this qualifier, first place was Scrubydan (Sagat), 2nd place was Kawing (Yun) and 3rd place was Gameoutttt (Guile). I tied for like 5th or 6th place so I thought it was a pretty decent/fun run for me :] though I had a pretty easy bracket lol. BBOY also came down that day as he was also in Hong Kong for those few days :D His offensive blanka really impressed a lot of guys at the arcade (Y), unfortunately he lost against Simon an experienced Abel player who learned a lot from Shiro himself when he lived in Japan during vanilla days!

A Success!

Place of event

Anyway the first and 2nd place got free airplane ride and lodging to Nanning, some place in western(?) China lol. They got to compete at a national-level tournament held there.

Daikou (Feilong) won the first season though. Better luck next time guys (and me haha)! Also big thanks to Siuchoi and other organizers for making the tournament a success. Looking forward to the next season already :)

Anyway stay tuned for more updates regarding XBL and Shadowloo :) Until the next time guys!
